چکیده

Abstract Antifungal activity of Monotheca buxifolia methanolic extract and its various fractions were assessed against Macrophomina phaseolina, a soil-borne fungal pathogen more than 500 vegetal species as well rare emerging opportunistic human pathogen. Different concentrations (3.125 to 200 mg mL −1 ) inhibited biomass by 39–45%. Isolated n- hexane, chloroform ethyl acetate suppressed 32–52%, 29–50% 29–35%, respectively. Triterpenes lupeol (1 , 2 isolated from n-hexane while betulin, β-sitosterol, β-amyrin, oleanolic acid ( 3–6 fraction. Vanillic acid, protocatechuic kaempferol quercetin (7–10) the fraction identified using spectroscopic techniques namely mass spectroscopy NMR. different (0.0312 compounds was evaluated compared with broad spectrum fungicide mancozeb. mencozeb reduced 83–85%. Among (2 found highest antifungal M. phaseolina followed betulin (3) vanillic 7 ), (8), β-amyrin 5 (6) resulting in 79–81%, 77–79%, 74–79%, 67–72%, 68–71% 68–71%, Rest also showed considerable 41–64%.
